Introduction

Renaissance Supported Housing provides accommodation with tailored support to young people aged 16 to 21 years, leaving care and 16 to 18 years, estranged from their parents/carers.

Aims & Objectives

Renaissance Supported Housing aim to work in partnership with young people, Local Authority services and other agencies to:

All our staff foster an awareness of the needs of young people, whilst assisting them in gaining life skills, confidence building and raising self- esteem; through individual support sessions, house activities, and group work.

Our objective is to provide a holistic approach to working with young people and responding to their expressed needs. Services are needs led, innovative and flexible. It is imperative that all assessments and care plans are based on collaboration between the young person, family, and or relevant agencies involved. Our work promotes respect for all individuals and recognises the diversity of our residents.

Staffing

Renaissance Supported Housing employs a diverse staff group with a wide range of skills and experience. All staff are fully referenced and required to provide enhanced DBS Clearance prior to commencing employment.

Accommodation

Our houses are maintained to a high standard comprising of modern cooking facilities. The kitchens are equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and washer dryer. All houses also have well maintained gardens. 

Bedrooms are fully furnished and young people are provided, with bed linen, towels, alarm clock and their own kitchenware when they move in.

Residents are expected to do their own laundry, cooking, and tidying of their rooms and communal areas. However training and support in carrying out the above tasks will be provided by support staff.

All young people are provided with keys to their own room and exit doors.
Young people also receive a resident’s handbook providing everything they need to know about living at Renaissance Supported Housing; as well as a comprehensive induction within their first two days in placement.

A telephone is available to residents for incoming calls only, however they will be able to make 999 emergency calls. Residents can purchase telephone cards from local shops in order to make personal calls. Calls to Social Workers or other professionals can be made from the office telephone, upon request to support staff.

 

Health & Safety

Health

Renaissance Supported Housing adopts a proactive approach to health. All young people are supported to register with a GP, Dentist and Optician within the first two weeks of their placement.
